I thank everyone who came on walks this year for the fun-gi’s and fabulous discoveries we made. Key species found were Jack ‘o’ Lantern Omphlotus illudens in Lichfield, the tiny Red leg Club Typhula erythropus at Black Rocks, and Yellow Leg Club Typhula lutescens at Pleasley Pit. Exciting was the Plain Earth Tongue Geoglossum umbratile, The first siting at Crich Chase, a Derbyshire SSSI that includes its grassland fungi in citation. So Entertained BBC Radio Derby with Amethyst Deceiver Laccaria amethysta by torchlight and BBC Radio Nottingham with a Wood Blewit Lepista nuda omelette between bread and butter!

Last week I had the rare Date Waxcap Hygrocybe spadicea at Darley and Nutwood LNR and the colourful Herald of Winter Hygrophorus hypothejus at Kedleston. Thank you
